It operates through two segments: Composite Materials and Engineered Products. The Composite Materials segment comprises of carbon fiber, specialty reinforcements, resins, prepregs and other fiber-reinforced matrix materials, and honeycomb core product lines. The Engineered Products segment comprises of lightweight composite structures, molded components, and specialty machined honeycomb product lines. Its products are used in a wide variety of end applications, such as commercial and military aircraft, space launch vehicles and satellites, wind turbine blades, automotive, bikes, skis and a wide variety of recreational products and other industrial applications. The company was founded by Roger C. Steele and Roscoe T. Hughes in 1946 and is headquartered in Stamford, CT.
